Tomas Urquieta’s Calatea EP—born in a hospital room during his father’s illness—merges raw emotion with club destruction. Made on a laptop amid beeping machines, its four tracks twist medical-sample unease into frenetic rhythms: the Latin-tinged swing of the title track, Taro’s siren chaos, Sotto Voce’s claustrophobic bass storms, and Vitra’s industrial stomp. Healing arrived, but the EP remains a visceral document of sonic catharsis.
